Cherwell District Council – ‘Oxfordshire Severe Weather Emergency Protocol’

The Oxfordshire Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is currently in effect, to ensure additional emergency beds are available for people sleeping rough when the temperature is expected to drop below zero for three consecutive days.

The protocol is expected to remain in effect over the next few days with more cold weather in store.

If you see someone bedding down or sleeping rough, please report them via the Streetlink website (www.streetlink.org.uk) or by calling 0300 500 0914. This will allow the outreach team to support individuals and identify the options available to them.

People wishing to donate money to help support Rough Sleepers locally can also give money to a local Text Giving number set up by the Beacon Centre in Banbury by texting NOXF11 (space) followed by £ (amount) to 70070. For example, to text £10 text NOXF11 £10 to 70070.
